Generations Power of the Primes Elita One

Let's face it this is not a great figure. Based off power of the primes Star Scream mould, Elita One was repurposed to fit in the Power of the Primes combiner madness'

So if it's not a good figure and Hasbro dropped the ball, why review it?

Well despite its shortcomings there are still some positives to this bot that I find enjoyable.

Let's start with...

The good... The figure has a fantastic head sculpt that encapsulates the character.

The size of the figure and the cockpit can house a Diaclone pilot and overall the alt mode is a nice looking jet.

The good (Nice head sculpt, Diaclone compatible, overall good looking jet mode).

Good looking head Sculpt!

Now onto the bad... This figure has poor knee joints that make it hard to stand and balance. The subject is covered in tacky reflective stickers that peel and covers a nicer paint job that lies underneath.

The hand held weapons don't fit well and can pop out quite  easily, due to the hands being moulded to not form fully closed fists. The guns being so small they can also get lost just as easily.

However the worst part is that the transformation is an unimaginative jetformer that just has the shell of a jet with the robot in a folded yoga position underneath.

The Bad (bad balance, weak knee joints, bad hand weapons holding typical jetformer, ugly stickers over paint).

Bad Knees

Open Hands

Dropped Weapons

As a note most of the stickers have peeled off my figure, so I can't show any examples.

Lots of robo kibble!

Maybe some more yoga will strengthen her knees... probably not!

And then there's the ugly, and oh my, there's a lot!! Pulling out the combiner head and having it placed in front of her is bad enough, but then her normal head goes inside and the combiner is placed upside down. This means that her nomal head goes up her... ahem bottom area.

The Ulgy (Nightmare fuel head placement, horrible combiner).

Gyaaah!!

Yeah I would
faint too

Torso mode...
Okay

OH MY...

YIKES!!!

NOPE, NOPE,
NOPE!!!

Just a logistical nightmare! Who the hell designed this thing!! Now I understand that Aerialbot Silverbolt has the same style of inverted design, but at least the head is actually concealed with a proper hatch to cover it up.

It's a nice looking combiner head though!

Okay so here's The combined mode. I don't care much for it and the less said the better. The chest is far too wide and the overall proportions are too gorilla like.

So now it's time to address the Elephant in the room. The combined form. These are NOT the hands and feet that the figure comes with. I bought Some extra Victorion parts on eBay to make the overall figure look more palatable.

Sadly as a combiner this figure is not aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. I feel sorry for the Star Scream version as he follows the same design. My guess is whoever designed this combiner REALLY hated Star Scream. Poor Elita One, being his mould mate suffered casualties from the fallout.

Overall this isn't a bad figure if left as a standalone. However it's not mean't to be a combiner. I'm still holding out hopes that some third party comes in to fix the issues, but I'm not holding my breath.
