Crusher Joe: The Movie Conclusion

Crusher Joe (1983 ) Nippon Sunrise Director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko Written by Haruka Takachiho.

To recap our story...
Joe and his team mates run into trouble on what was supposedly a routine delivery and are framed for piracy.

An agent named Bard uses his influence to free the Crusher team in exchange for capturing the culprits involved.

Joe and his team travel to Lagol to take on the pirate Big Murphy to try and clear their names, but are captured by the pirates.

And now....

The fate of our heroes...

Having been captured by Norma Joe and Alfin are reunited with Talos and Ricky. All looks bleak but then Talos pulls the ace out of his sleeve.

Talos is a cyborg.
Stand back

Talos uses his artificial limbs to smash the shackles hold himself and his comrades prisoner and uses a hidden gatling gun contained in his left arm.

He easily blows a hole in their prison and the team make their escape.
The pirates bully Joana Mature with threats of violence until she finally breaks down and agrees to help the pirates to finish the adjustments on the warp controller.

Suddenly the alarm goes off and the base is informed that the Crushers have escaped and are on the loose.

Big Murphy, confident in his abilities decides to have the escape broadcast on all channels so that the Planet can see how powerful and capable they are dealing with any intruders.

As the onlookers watch the team get separated trying to cross a walkway that collapses. His teammates fall below leaving Joe by himself to take on the looming threat.

As the walkway collapses Joe manages to fall onto a garbage conveyer further separating him from his friends with Norma in hot pursuit.

Joe manages to hold his own but is eventually cornered in a corrosion room with an explosive atmosphere not conducive to energy weapons.

The battle becomes hand to hand using the blade weapons stored as bayonets within the battle rifle.

During the battle Joe loses his balance and falls toward the corrosive pit narrowly missing his fate by grabbing onto a nearby grappling hook.

Norma decides to use her whip to try to get Joe to fall into the pit dissolving pit.

Just as all seems lost the refuge chute that the villains are standing on retracts sending them to a steaming acid death.

Loki is devastated by the loss, Killie is shocked and outraged while Big Murphy is quietly unimpressed but seething by the show of incompetence.

His patience worn out Murphy Orders Killie to stop fooling around and eliminate the problem.

Meanwhile Joe's problems are far from over as he traverses the base's underground network of tunnels trying to avoid getting caught as well as trying to find his way out. To make matters worse he finds the remains of Valenstinos/ Yosef and his crew left to rot by the pirates as a consequence for their failure.

Just when all seems lost he is reunited with his team, whom managed to survive the fall by landing in the sewage, much to Joe's relief, but dismay to his sense of smell.

Now reunited, the team decide to play their last card.

On board the Minerva Dongo receives orders and initiates a missile attack towards the island.

As the crew wait the ship sends a devastating barrage pummelling the pirate sanctuary, and leaving their adversaries in disarray.

When the crushers emerge from the chaos Talos finds it strange that the Minerva was able to inflict this much damage.

Before they can suspect anything however the pirates press their attack doing everything they can to keep the Crushers at bay.

Meanwhile Big Murphy decides to cut his losses and heads off with Killie, Loki and Mature to a shuttle toescape to his orbital fortress of Gamora.

While Talos manages to delay their efforts, the pirates manage to flee on their shuttle.

Luckily the Minerva arrives and the Crushers, rapidly pursue their quarry.

Unfortunately President Mardola does not see the Crushers efforts as being successful, he decides to take matters into his own hands and calls in the United Space Force.

Just outside the Planet's orbit Kowalsky and Bard lie in wait, when they receive official orders to engage the Murphy pirates from the President.

The Cordoba launches its battle cruisers and prepares to engage the enemy with the Crushers in hot pursuit of Murphy's shuttle. The stage is set for an epic showdown.

Murphy arrives at Fortress Gamora where he heads for the control room while telling Killie to secure the docking port.

The Minerva cruise around the station looking for weak points and Joe goes for a full scale assault on the docking port. It doesn't go well.

Battle Fortress Gamora

The entrance is heavily reinforced and the Minerva doesn't have the fire power to make a dent.

The Minerva engages the Pirate fleet

The pirates then begin an attack with a fleet of battle cruisers. As the Crushers engage Joe thinks to himself "We'll show them the difference between pirates and Crushers!" The Minerva engages in combat and despite being outnumbered the pirates start taking heavy losses.

Sadly the combat starts taking its toll on the ship, and just when it seems one of the battleships have the Crushers in a pinch, Bard shows up and gives the team much needed reinforcement.

Meanwhile on board the Gamora Big Murphy prepares to launch orbit to ground missiles on the Planet Minaus aimed at the capitol of Pablolpolis right on President Mardolas doorstep.

The Missile launch is aborted however when the presence of the Space force shows up and starts decimating the pirate fleet.Murphy is incredulous that Mardola has stopped at nothing to defeat him. As a last resort he start to deploy the power of the warp controller.

Mature is shocked that the system is being so recklessly, and begs Murphy to stop. Murphy is drunk with power as Space Force ships are ripped from orbit and are sent crashing to the Planet.

All of this warping is causing instability in the space time line as the Planet below starts to crumble under fluctuating gravitational forces. All the while  cursing Mardola and his administration for opposing him.

But Loki has had enough. He shoots Big Murphy as an act of betrayal citing that Mardola had told him that he should be in charge, saying from now on the gang shall be referred to as the Loki Pirates.

As a result he winds up shooting Murphy several times causing him to fall down a deep chasm ala Emperor Palpatine. (Had to get a Star Wars reference in there somewhere!).

With Murphy exterminated Mature realises space is broken! She desperately tries to switch of the controller but to no avail.

Meanwhile out in space conditions worsen as the instability causes the Planet's moon Norn to start moving out of orbit, causing geological upheaval on the Planet as well as ships crashing into each other in space.

Joe contacts Kowalsky and asks for his help in targeting and blowing up the station's docking port. He is further urged by Bard to follow on that request.

While the Captain doesn't fully understand the situation he complies nonetheless.

He orders the ship to open fire on the dock and uses the battleship powerful blasters to rip the armoured hatch to shreds.

The Crushers use this opening to force their way into the station. They land their ship and deploy the Galleon, the Minerva's Armoured Personnel carrier.

Waiting for them in a power suit is Killie.

Meanwhile in the main control room Mature realises that the Warp Controller must be shut down and she sees the main switch located at the centre of the control tower. She make her way tight rope style across the span on a thin protruding antenna that leads to the tower.

Loki not knowing what she is doing tries to stop her by firing a warning shot in her direction telling her to stop.

In the docking bay Killie stands in the way of the Crushers and seems to gain the upper hand as he relentlessly pounds on the Galleon in an all out assault.

In an act of desperation Joe unloads a pile of missile on the heavy power suit and uses the dozer blade at the front of the carrier to plow into the exo-suit and "crushes" (pun intended) the pirate.

Mature makes it to the control tower but Loki lands a shot on her before she can throw the switch. The Crushers immediately arrive and take out Loki.

Joe is shocked to see Mature shot but she asks him to help her stop the machine. with his help together they throw the switch and Mature dies shortly in his arms. Kowalsky arrives with his troops and decides the Crushers are innocent after all.

Just before he dies Loki admits to the Space Force and the Crushers that Mardola was the mastermind of this whole affair.

Later on the Planet Minaus, Mardola holds a press conference hailing the defeat of the Murphy Pirates and the touts a new age for the citizens free from criminality.

After the speech Mardola returns to his office and is surprised to find Joe waiting there.

Joe then tells Mardola that he was in on all the illegal activity of the pirates from the beginning and accuses him of wanting the warp controller himself in order to cut out the middle man.

He further says that when he failed to obtain the system he manipulated the Crushers Loki to eliminate Murphy.

Bard and the Space Force step in with an arrest warrant for the President for piracy.

As Lt Bard thanks Joe for his help the Crusher rewards him with a punch in the face. Joe realizes that the Intelligence unit and his father were using him and does not appreciate it.

As the mission ends Joe and Alfin decide to go for a ride in a hover car where Alfin tells Joe that Dr Barbos was actually Mature's father and that he placed her in cryogenic suspension to protect her form working with the pirates.

Joe remembers Mature's words about how his father actually cares for him and his lightens up as he and Alfin drive faster enjoying the surroundings as they fly by.
