(破邪大星 弾劾鳳) Haja Tasei Dangiaoh Kaiyodo/ Organic PVC Figure Number 023Well, after lurking about on different websites for a considerable amount of time I decided to purchase the Kaiyodo Revoltech Haja Taisei Dangaioh figure. (Betcha those last 5 words were throwing my spell checker into a nervous breakdown).
The Dangaioh mecha was conceived by designer Shoji Kawamori and the PVC figure is sculpted by toy designer Kitsuhisa Yamaguchi.
Dangaioh is an OVA that has a polarized opinion amongst anime fans, you either love it or you hate it and never the twain shall meet. I for one lie in the camp of the former (which is why I acquired the figure). Then the inevitable happened, I went searching for months looking for one because each site I went to claimed they were out of stock. Luckily the good people of Kirin Hobby came to my rescue after an extensive Google search.
Now let's talk about the product.
The figure itself is very impressive with super articulation provided by a multitude of ratcheting ball joints scattered throughout its body. Dangaioh stands at five and a half inches in height and comes with a number of accessories including: open and closed fists which can be easily interchanged, including the interlocked fists to create the famous Spiral Knuckle pose (pictured above) as well as the open handed psychic wave. Conversely Dangaioh is also equipped with the Haja no Ken (the big sword).
