Mugen Calibur and Ovelon Gazette are in the HOOOUSE!!!
I rarely do reviews of two toys, let alone toys made from two different manufacturers, but since this is a pair that belong in the same Dorvack universe I can make the exception.
That's right I said DORVACK universe.
Hasbro's Roadbuster and Whirl were taken from the Anime: Special Armored Battalion Dorvack (特装機兵ドルバック Tokusō Kihei Dorubākku) in an effort to expand their Transformers line.
Masato Mugen, Louise Ovelon (or Oberon) and Pierre Bonaparte were the three pilots who composed the Dorvack Unit fighting against the Idelian invaders. Sadly no third party has tackled the Bonaparte Tulcas but for now I'm happy to have these two.
I will be referring to the names in the Dorvack anime or the Fansproject names for the rest of this article. Why? Because they were here first, get over it Transformers fans!!!!
That being said onto the review!!! First off we have WB 004 Revolver Core.
This Fansproject offering is their reworked version of Calibur, the Jeep type mech piloted by Masato Mugen.
The figure follows their Warbot format in that it includes a heartmaster pilot; in this case Revolver. The little bot works in tandem to the larger figure much like Steel Core.
Revolver:
Revolver is a great little figure and can be interchanged with his partner Steel adding a little colour to the Warbot. The figure even pays tribute to Masato by sporting a pair of goggles. When coupled with his core he conveniently plugs into the back.
Alt mode:
Revolver Core is a fantastic re-imagining of the Calibur.
Robot mode:
Revolver Core comes with an impressive load-out, included are two pistols, a rifle and a large barrelled rocket launcher. I also took the liberty of arming him with some Colossus pistols I had lying around
Accessories:
The second figure is Hasbro's updated version of Gazette, the helicopter mech piloted by Louise Ovelon. This figure has an added bonus in that it includes a Gerwalk mode. The figure also comes sporting a formidable arsenal of rockets, chain guns and a rail cannon.
Gerwalk Mode:

There is also a working cockpit.
Robot Mode:
The downside to this figure is it's claw-like hands which makes it impossible to hold any weapons, one must rely on the 5mm peg holes for the robot to be armed. I know that's how it was in the show, but it's still a downer.
The two together.
And finally my interpretation of the Dorvack team using Steel Core as a substitute for Tulcas.
