Transformers Siege Hound

Siege Hound is another surprising offering from the War for Cybertron design team that actually is more fun than it deserves to be.

I will admit that I was one of those "not sure I'm excited about this" types that was leery about picking up this figure and wound up being impressed by having it and handling the transformation.

The figure itself is a really good representation of G 1 Hound the alt mode looks good as well.

It's fun and intuitive and the alt mode looks like a rugged military machine... nuff said.

Hound with Ginrai. The sad part is that the interior is too small for a headmaster but one can put a rider inside with a little bit of trickery.

Of course there are other means to add an occupant.

Some comparisons

In the end this is a great figure.

Transformers Siege Sideswipe with Six-Gun

Siege Sideswipe, this is a clear example of Hasbro upping their game.

The plastic quality is solid (Made of sterner stuff), with tight joints and smart choices that gives the figure weight and heft missing in releases done in the past.

The paints are crisp and nicely done. Hasbro's choice to incorporate battle damage is far more subtle and actually looks like dry brushing techniques rather than random blotting and blotching that they employed in their earlier figures.

The transformation is simple yet satisfying and the alt mode looks good as well as the robot mode.

Overall this is a winner.

Gerwalk Mode:

Weapons attached pew, pew. bang, bang... yes it does look ridiculous. I would have preferred better weapons storage integration, but it's not a deal breaker.

Some of these photos have the benefit of being enhanced by the Six-Gun figure.

How to avoid Visible Head Syndrome

The alt mode is a really nice rendition of a performance car.

With the Primes

While we're on the subject let's take a moment to look at the Six-Gun figure.

Six-Gun is a mixed bag for me. While I like the robot mode, the alt mode and some of his "weapons" don't quite hit home.

Still it is a nice figure. The overall silhouette looks cool and the colours are great.
